Cayden Brown Closes “The Kid in the Courtroom” Tour at World Health Organization Headquarters in Geneva
GENEVA — Cayden Brown, Founder and Executive Director of The Trespass Project and No. 1 Amazon bestselling author of “The Kid in the Courtroom,” concluded the international tour for his debut children’s book with a presentation at the World Health Organization Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
Brown presented during the 31st AFS Youth Assembly, held August 12–14 at the World Health Organization and organized in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research. The 2026 Assembly convened more than 700 participants representing 80 countries around the theme “Rise. Reimagine. Rebuild: A World for All.”
His presentation centered on the lived experience that became the foundation for “The Kid in the Courtroom”: being a child whose life was materially shaped by legal decisions made in rooms where his own voice was absent.
“The law must make room for the voices of the children who have to live with its consequences,” Brown said.
Published through Trespass Publishing, “The Kid in the Courtroom” follows a young boy searching for his voice during a custody dispute in which consequential decisions are made by adults and a judge who never asks to hear from him. The title became a No. 1 Amazon release shortly after publication and is distributed worldwide through more than 40,000 retailers, bookstores, libraries and schools.
The Geneva presentation served as the final stop in a summer campaign that brought the book into youth-serving institutions and conversations across the United States and Europe.
The setting carried particular weight for Brown. Two years earlier, at age 17, he addressed the AFS Youth Assembly at United Nations Headquarters in New York as the youngest of five youth peace panelists selected from around the world. That appearance placed his advocacy for youth participation before an international audience of nearly 800 people representing more than 100 countries.
Returning to the AFS Youth Assembly in 2026, this time carrying a published book rooted in the same child-rights thesis, marked a distinct progression in Brown’s work.
“Closing this tour alongside hundreds of young leaders from 80 countries is a moment I’ll never forget,” Brown said.
Brown founded The Trespass Project at sixteen. The Detroit-based organization brings together attorneys, technologists, policy professionals and advocates to expand legal literacy and access for children around the world.
